International Literacy Day (ILD) is celebrated annually on September 8 and highlights the importance of literacy in our daily lives.
This year, ILD highlights unified approaches that “support the development of literacy and skills to ultimately improve people’s life and work and contribute to equitable and sustainable societies.”
You can celebrate literacy day by encouraging youth to write stories, practice spelling, and read a variety of books. You can also follow hashtags #InternationalLiteracyDay and #ILD14 on Twitter and Facebook for more ideas and updates around the world!
Our mission is to enhance the academic, emotional and social wellbeing of children and families in our diverse community with programs focused on developing successful and productive adults.
