The Jenny Cline Center for Dance provides high-quality dance instruction. Courses this year include:
Preschool 1, Ballet and Tap (ages 3.5-5.5) 45 minute class
A child’s first introduction to ballet and tap focuses on learning to work in a group, recognizing rhythm, improving balance and coordination, and developing a love of dance. Ballet positions, terms, and combinations will be taught as will tap basics and routines.
Preschool 2 45 minute class
This class is for students with 1 or more years of experience. Instructor approval required for registration.
School Age Beginner Ballet and Tap (ages 5.5 and up) 1 hour class
For those with 1 year or less dance experience. Ballet is foundational to all forms of dance; therefore it is a required technique for the School Aged Beginner. Tap is a uniquely American art form that informs other styles of dance. The goals of this class are to introduce basic terminologies, techniques, rhythms, and spatial awareness.
Advanced Beginner Ballet 45 minute class
Required for enrollment in other Advanced Beginner Classes. For dancers with 2 or more years of experience who demonstrate a mastery of basic ballet terminology. This class will expand ballet vocabulary, while working toward increased confidence dancing at various tempos.
Advanced Beginner Tap 45 minute class
For dancers with 2 or more years of experience who demonstrate a mastery of basic tap technique. This class will expand tap vocabulary, while working toward increased confidence dancing at various tempos.
Junior Jazz (enrollment in Ballet required) 45 minute class
This class will explore movements common in Broadway and Popular dance styles.
Junior Varsity Poms (age 7 to 14) 45 minute class
This class is designed to let the dancer experience what goes into creating well executed pom routines. Dancers will learn to pay close attention to detail, improve their ability to work in a group, and exude a positive attitude.
Adult Tap 1 hour class
Beginning to intermediate tappers age 14-? will experience the joy of tap as we learn to produce sound and rhythm, and quickly put what we have learned into combinations. This class will be taught in a way that allows dancers of various skill levels to succeed and progress at their own pace.
Song and Dance (preschool or elementary) 30 minute classes
A great start for future show choir stars! Students will learn a variety of songs to sing as well as accompanying dances.
Middle School Class 1 hour class
Class content will be determined by student needs and interests.
